• RESP: Supervise a group of 7-8 students (2 staff per group), for 24 hours a day, on 10 to 26 day courses; facilitate a safe and successful experience during the adventure based portions of the course; facilitate the development of life skills, organizational skills, self-esteem, problem-solving strategies, communication techniques, and social skills; assist in developing personal goals for each student; write a comprehensive student evaluation at the end of each course; and act as a role model for students by demonstrating maturity, responsibility, good organizational skills, and professional behavior.
• QUAL: Minimum 20 years of age (21 and older preferred); 2 years of college experience, in human service related field preferred (e.g., Education, Psychology, Recreation); current first aid and CPR certification (minimum WFA required for NC and WY staff; Lifeguard required for FL and CA staff); experience and/or desire to work with LD and AD/HD youth; patience, energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, maturity, and integrity required; experience in and/or desire to learn outdoor adventure activities; strong organizational and lime management skills preferred.

Wy only- support flat-water canoeing and Riflery FL & CA: facilitate use of ocean water craft such as motor boats or jet skis (FL only); facilitate water-based activities such as sea kayaking and snorkeling: manage logistics for groups during and between courses including managing, repairing, and transporting group gear and purchasing of food during course; provide relief to instructor's in the field.

City Kids Wilderness Project

• City Kids Wilderness Project operates a nonprofit residential summer camp located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our camp counselors live, work, and play with our campers, aged 11-16. CityKids Camp is a unique program, serving children from Washington, D.C. The camp is located on a beautiful ranch and our program is limited to 30 campers per session. Staff to camper ratio is 1:4.Outdoor Adventure Program Staff work with a team of co-workers to provide a summer adventure-based program for underserved and at-risk youth from inner-city Washington, D.C. Base camp is beautiful Broken Arrow Ranch, south of Jackson Hole. The program includes both on-site and off-site activities, single day and multi-day trips: backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, and rock climbing. Staffs spend time with students developing goals, creating journals, problem solving, team building and debriefing. Each staff is responsible for a cabin with 4-6 students. The primary responsibilities of the position are to develop a positive, proactive relationship with participants, be a role model, facilitate team and personal growth, insure the health and safety of all participants and the successful delivery of activities and trips. Counselors have partial days and a full day off during and between sessions. Contract includes a paid 10-day staff training. The Road Less Traveled

• SUMMER EXPEDITION LEADERS and co-leaders needed for western U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Gulf Coast, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Tanzania, China, Guatemala, Spain, Bhutan, India, Azore Islands, Costa Rica, and Norway programs for teenagers.
• The Road Less Traveled provides summer Community Service, Wilderness Adventure, and Global Perspectives trips for students ages 13-19. As a staff member you have the opportunity to lead a group of dedicated students in the teaching of wilderness skills, cultural and environmental awareness, and community service. You will work with committed, experienced, and supportive staff members while backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, desert hiking, kayaking, and whitewater rafting.
• Trip leaders and co-leaders begin their summer with 8 days of staff training in Colorado. From Colorado, leaders depart for their trips. Must be 21 years old, have experience working with teenagers and possess solid wilderness skills. Hold a valid drivers license and maintain a good driving record.
